Take home midterm, and the essay questions are handed out before the final exam so not too hard to prepare. Tough grading but interesting and worthwhile class.

I know a lot of people have said Klosko is dry and I can sort of see where they're coming from, but if you're interested in the material then it really is a great class. Klosko is extremely knowledgeable about all things Plato and Aristotle, among many other philosophers. Just be sure to at least skim the readings, but he takes his time with each of the works and really helps you get a good sense of what you should take away from it.
Overall, not a terribly difficult class. The midterm is take-home and just make sure to take your time on the paper.
Molly was a great TA, be sure and take her!
Great class! Klosko is engaging and cares about his students.
Don't take this class unless you can brace yourself for boredom. Klosko is a nice guy but his lectures can put you to sleep. Some of his lectures are interesting though, yet he repeats the material he taught on Monday again on Wednesday, so you don't really have to attend Monday unless you didnt read and need to prepare for discussion. Discussion is awkward. You have to come up with discussion questions for HW and you never discuss them. 1 take home midterm, 12 page paper, and final (all essays). If youre a politics major, this class is NOT worth screwing up your major GPA.
Klosko's lectures are really dry, but he's brilliant. Take notes on a computer; he moves fast. Midterm is open book, open note, open Wikipedia (in Klosko's own words). Final paper is good if you are prepared. Final is easy - you get all the questions beforehand. Grading is very fair.
Great class. Learned a lot. Highly recommended with Klosko.
I took this class because a PT is required for my major, and because it seemed really interesting. How wrong I was- the material itself is not that bad (Plato, Aristotle, Cicero, etc) but Klosko has got to be the most boring lecturer on Earth. This class is challenging for someone who may not have prior experience with Greek and Ancient philosophy and theology. Also VERY VERY reading and writing intensive.
