Review Summary Updated April 05, 2026

This class is incredibly fun and deeply rewarding, but do not expect it to be an easy ride. Quizzes are notoriously tough and move fast, so you will absolutely need to review the course materials, form a study group, and attend extra drills or signing lunches to actually lock things in. The weekly videos and readings are manageable if you stay on track, but mastering fingerspelling and conversational fluency requires serious dedication outside of lecture hours. The instructor is genuinely supportive and flexible if you show up willing to work, though grading remains strict and high marks are completely dependent on your outside practice. Take this if you are ready to commit to a new language and Deaf culture, but look elsewhere if you are just hunting for a relaxed foreign language credit.

Love this class. Greg is awesome! The tests can be frustrating though. Greg's signing is so fast. Overall, I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who needs a foreign language, or just wants to learn more about the Deaf community.
