Rini takes what could be a dry subject and makes it a useful, enjoyable class. He's also a fair grader and genuinely wants his students to do well. Not too much work and it really helped improve my accent.

Pretty easy class, but I disagree with the person below me. You practice pronunciation a lot in class, but pronunciation doesn't really comprise any of your final grade. The grade is almost entirely based on phonetic transcription (writing phonetically). If you're a gringo who can't speak Spanish, this is the class for you. If you do speak Spanish well and expect to skate through, you'd be wrong.

Rini puts a strong emphasis on practice of pronunciation, which really helps.

Lots of in-class exercises, but not very difficult, and essentially no out of class work.
