Lots of unnecessary math in this course. It is supposed to be an introduction course with little math involved, but we were doing intermediate style math anyway. You only talk about monopoly, perfect competition, and the PPC for the entire semester.

So theres more math than Elzinga, and less material learned than Elzinga's class. Also no real world examples are brought in. It's not impossible but also not crazy recommended. Decent curve at the end of the class though.

I like Prof. Santugini very much because he is such a nice person and he presents his class in a very clear way. However, the difficulty of his exams varies a lot. The first one is much much easier than the second one and final. I would have a higher score if I paid more attention to this course.

Professor Marc is awesome. I loved his lectures because they were so engaging and easy to understand. The Professor is super enthusiastic about microeconomics and always willing to help/answer questions. Having a good TA for this class is important as they teach you most of the math involved in the class with more in-depth explanations. I had Moogdho as my TA and he was a big part of my success for this class. The first midterm was easy and the second one was much harder but they balance out in the end and the final was not bad at all. Also I love how Professor Marc explains the lectures as he writes his notes with the class because then the class can just copy everything he writes and really be engaged. You don't really have to read the chapters but I recommend maybe skimming through them to get a basic idea. The work load is low to none as long as you go to lecture and discussion. I highly recommend taking this class with Professor Marc and make sure to go to every class because every lecture has new information; you will fall behind if you do miss class.

Marc Santugini is a decent lecturer but his notes are incomprehensible. He writes on a sheet of paper which he projects onto a screen. His handwriting is messy and all over the page, so most notes taken during lectures are useless. In order to do well you have to do the problem sets each week and go to your discussion sections to get the answers. The tests are not hard as long as you study the problem sets and the clicker questions. Don't worry about getting the full 15 clicker points because Marc gives about double the questions you need. As far as TAs go, Mooghdo is the bomb and Ramiro sucks. If you get Ramiro, try to switch. He is not nice. Overall, not a great professor but not a bad class.

Marc is alright. He's new to lecturing Microeconomics, but he knows a shitton about what he's talking about. I'm taking this class right now and we've had two "tests" with one final to go. The first test, the class average was a 96, and it was laughably easy. I think he got kinda butthurt that he pitched a homerun at basically everybody, so his next test was a fucking knuckleball. Class average was a 60, and a lot of the problems were unlike those that he gave us every week for practice. There is a textbook that you don't have to read, except if you've never taken micro before and need to brush up on a few topics. The only hw is a weekly problem sheet you don't really need to do. At this point there is no status quo to his exams. He has set a precedent of volatility. I would be comfortable taking this class in the fall of 2017 because by then he will probably figure out a medium difficulty for his exams. Most TA's suck, but if you got Moogdho you're in good hands. Cheers.

I'm taking this course in Marc's first ever lecture class and frankly, it shows. I am extremely unimpressed with the structure of the class and the absurdly slow pace at which we have covered the material.

The mean and standard deviation for the second midterm was a 64 and 20 respectively, to which Marc said "it's fine." The first midterm covered four chapters worth of material compared to the other lecturer's class covering fourteen or seventeen. While Marc is a cool guy, avoid this lecturer. The material covered is important and interesting when conveyed by the right professor, but I have been very underwhelmed by this professor in particular. My TA for Marc has also been laughably awful; he clearly does not get first pick on the best and brightest TAs, something that can really hurt your grade considering that midterm material comes almost exclusively from practice problems "covered" in your TA section.
