1Lecture (1)
Consistently complete the readings and study old exam questions, as tests draw heavily from lecture slides, problem sets, and previously released material, though you should still brace for occasional tricky, time-crunched sections. The instructor is passionate and highly accessible, but lectures can feel disorganized or rushed and teaching assistants rarely add much value, so rely on direct office hours for actual help. Perceived difficulty fluctuates widely between terms, shifting from straightforward conceptual checks to intermediate-level math, meaning consistent attendance and proactive study habits are essential to stay on track. You will find this highly rewarding if you genuinely care about education markets and research, but it will likely feel like a heavy lift if you are just looking for a casual requirement filler.

Good material, but not organized very well in lecture. TA was horrible- would go to Turner directly for any questions/concerns. Problems sets didn't relate to lecture had to put in some extra time to understand problem sets.
This class is great for 2nd year econ majors that are just getting into real econ classes. Turner is very involved with her students and insists on getting feedback to make sure everyone is doing alright. She's very accessible, as are the TAs for the most part. This class is easy if you keep up and do the readings.
Great class; it provides a lot of insight into the market for education. I would recommend this class to anyone who likes economics and also has an interst in teaching later in life. Professor Turner is really passioante about the material.
Class wasn't too hard though you had to take it seriously to do well. Professor Turner cares a lot about both her students and the subject she teaches and you can tell. There is a lot of reading but you only need to skim things to be able to write about them on tests. I would recommend this if you are interested in the subject. I took it just as a filler class and it ended up not being that worthwhile.
Lectures were sometimes boring, but subject matter was somewhat interesting and kind of easy. Professor is very nice and knowledgable. Tests were easy.
This class delves into the educational system in the U.S., and gives a decent introduction into the theory of education pricing, admissions, and financial aid.
