Review Summary Updated April 05, 2026

This is an incredibly light course where you will almost certainly earn a solid A as long as you submit your work, since grading is entirely completion-based and there are absolutely no tests or midterms. Expect a minimal time commitment involving weekly videos, a few short writing assignments, occasional tutoring or interviews, and the freedom to secure extensions if needed. The instructor is consistently praised for being exceptionally kind, highly enthusiastic, and very accommodating, which makes even longer meeting times feel surprisingly manageable. If you want a low-stress, straightforward introduction to the education field or just need an easy way to fill a scheduling gap, this is a highly practical choice, though students looking for rigorous academic challenges will find the material fairly basic.

Professor Plaskon was a great professor. The class was pretty easy but he did a great job of introducing us to what to expect in a teaching career.

Mr. Plaskon is one of the nicest professors I have had at UVA. He's always available for his students, and he makes a point to learn, not just his students' names, but also a little bit about them. Class is relatively easy (nice summer activity--as I did!), and really enjoyable. He also emphasizes working in groups, so you become really close with the class.
