I never in my life thought I would miss a math class until I took Math 1190. I did the IB program in high school so math was a little unconventional, which left me feeling insecure about my math skills. I liked that 1190 had an extra credit hour for practice problems in class every week (the only difference between 1190 and 1210 btw), because it really helped me feel confident with the material. There is a lot of work for this class - especially the pre class activities once the material got more challenging, but what you put into it, you got out of it. The practice tests would be the exact same layout/types of problems as the exam, so as someone who got a 99 on the final, do the practice problems until you genuinely cannot mess them up, and you'll be set. DJ is also such an amazing professor with a wonderful learning philosophy. The content itself is very straightforward IMO, but the second anything feels confusing, make sure you ask for help until it clicks. Once it clicks, you're golden. I never thought I was good at math, but it turns out that having a good professor makes all the difference (I did not have a good math teacher from 8-11 grade of HS). Thank you to this class for helping me fall in love with math.
