This is for "Introduction to Buddhist Philosophy" with Sonam Kachru.
This class was awesome. A super cool, engaging introduction to the wide, wide world of Buddhist thought. Kachru is funny, even if the students don't always laugh at his jokes (which he frequently bemoans). There are very light weekly readings which are typically interesting and informative.
Some of the material is confusing, but that's okay. These are ideas that have been furiously debated for thousands of years. Don't expect to master them in an intro college course. But that shouldn't scare you away. You can still engage with the ideas and make relevant contributions to the course.
In addition to the readings, there is a required weekly engagement (essentially a reflection) that is graded for completion. Overall, highly recommend this course (or any other with Kachru), especially if you are interested in learning more about the rich, diverse tradition of Buddhist philosophy. #tCFspring2022
