This is an awesome ENWR! I took it Fall of 2025 and it’s all about Fantasy world building/quest narrative. Even if you haven’t read fantasy this class is still great. I personally wasn’t the biggest fan but now enjoy the genre more after this class. Greta is an awesome instructor; she’s super organized, down to earth, and reasonable in her expectations. In the course you read “The Hobbit”, many short essays, and a fantasy novel that you can choose from a short list. The grading is based on a specs model; if a certain amount of assignments are completed and meet specifications then you earn a certain grade. To pass the class you must meet specs on a short midterm and final paper and a final project. The papers are not too hard, and you are walked through the first one. The final project is a few fun little assignments like a soundtrack and an informal presentation. There are also sidequests (easy small assignments) mostly completed in class and reading check ins. The reading check ins are just to make sure you are keeping up in your book and little informal reflections. To earn an A you need to do 14 of 16 sidequests and all 5 reading check ins. You also get three tokens to turn in assignments late, excuse an absence, and more things that I can’t remember. The class is not too much work and really enjoyable. I highly recommend it!
