Debra's amazing! Super approachable and her feedback was always helpful. I grew a lot as a writer in her workshop and def recommend taking a class with her. Class was split into groups, and each group alternated having poems turned in for critique every other week or so. Then the entire class reads and gives feedback for each person in the group. Debra's feedback was always very detailed and she was always open to staying after/making appointments for further help. When we weren't giving feedback on others' work, we had class discussions about the anthologies she assigned. The anthologies were super interesting and you don't have to read the whole thing if you don't want to - she gives a list of which poems to read in each anthology. Final project included revisions of personal work based on feedback in class, reflections on 3 poems in the anthologies read in class, and responses to 2 outside poetry readings/talks.
