This class is torture. DeWekker is not the instructor, but he teaches the 3300 class, and I don't even think my TA is at fault. The lab consists of sitting in silence in Kerchof hall and doing very difficult atmospheric problems and then using the most outdated coding software (MATLAB) to model the answers and information that you find. This class has to change. It is unbearable. There is no teaching happening. From speaking with other students their experience is similar. It is required for the major so everyone has to take it. I came to school to learn, not sit here and be a robot and input code without understanding the processes or results. It is absolutely ridiculous and makes me feel sad that this is what our education system has come to.

Can be a lot of work and difficult depending on your TA. I had Mitchell as my TA and he was awesome. He tried to make the time in lab as short as possible and his reading quizzes were pretty simple. If you don't do well on one of the labs, he offers rewrites. Also, he was super helpful during office hours or by email for both lab and lecture. The lab itself can be tedious and time consuming, but they are supposedly rewriting the lab manual, so it should hopefully be better.
