Class itself is interesting and Barnes is a great lecturer. All assignments are graded by the TA which changes frequently. Would not recommend this section. Discussion was essentially a mini-lecture that contributed very little. Extremely variable grading with unclear guidelines on assignments. I have taken philosophy classes before and would not recommend those who have never written a philosophy paper before to take this TA's section. He also didn't seem invested into teaching and gave very little effort into helping those who were online (given there's still a pandemic) contribute and not get behind. Rather, it seemed like "too much work" to just even simply Zoom people into class even though UVA has outfitted every room with easily accessible video/speaker capabilities....
