Cecile ROCKS she was so sweet and I loved her! (she rounded my grade at the end of the year!) Having this 4 days a week kinda sucked but it was helpful for better immersion. Online quizzes aren't too bad. The tests can range from easy to hard but she's a pretty nice grader so I wouldn't be too worried. We have a few alternate assignments that can be kind of annoying at times but honestly weren't too bad! You 100% need to study for this class. I recommend doing HEAVY at-home preparation for the ebauches (you can use notes and an online dictionary). You get 4 skips but I recommend class attendance. The VHL is so annoying but it does help with your learning. I took french in high school and did not place into this, I just selected this as my level and I think I selected correctly. DO NOT bank on the final raising your grade, I studied for hours and scraped a B. Other than that, good class, HIGHLY recommend Cecile!

Professor Rey is the best! She is a French native, which helped me challenge my speaking and comprehension skills even more. She is very chill and extremely open to suggestions and questions. Groupwork and conversation are a must in this class. As long as you attend class, put forth a genuine effort, and do well on what counts the most, you will attain the A range.
This was a very helpful class for learning the language, and Cecile is a very good professor. Very knowledgeable about the language and conveys it really well. Easy to get a good grade if you put in the effort.
Professor Rey is the BEST. She is a native speaker so her pronunciation is really good obviously. She is so chill about class and French classes are so fun! She is so kind and she replied my emails really quickly. 100% RECOMMEND Prof Rey if you want to do French.
