Madame Lyu is the most amazing professor that I have had here at UVA. Her syllabus is VERY intimidating but don't let that get to you during the 1st week. She cares a lot about her students, so see her during office hours if you need help! She does most of the talking in class which is fine because she is so incredibly intelligent and has a lot to share. Also, Madame grades more on effort- if she sees you working your butt off, you'll be just fine.

Fantastic class if you are serious about French, enjoy writing essays, and don't mind participating in a small group discussion. Mme Lyu is very nice and approachable, and she is extremely well-versed in the subject.

Mme Lyu is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She is also very knowledgeable about Baudelaire, and is open to hearing students' interpretations.
