This class was taught essentially by the UVA Career Center but led daily by Everette Fortner. They bring in a lot of Alumni for career panels, and each person was pretty helpful in terms of answering questions and offering a preface to their job/ career. This class has you buy two books, and there is reading every night, as it is a condensed class for a J-term. The class basically focuses on tying your major, university experience, and interests to your career after graduation, but first-years through fourth-years were in the class. You finetune your LinkedIn profile, Resume, Cover Letter, VAM Profile, Handshake Profile, and review various career pursuit tools available through the Career Center like LinkedIn Learning and Coursera. It's discussion-based, so be prepared to offer your opinions/ interests/ career thoughts. The other career counselors lead a lot of helpful exercises to get you to develop your career vision and how to practically arrive there. Overall, this class was really engaging and extremely helpful to me. I would recommend you take this course, and if you don't, book an appointment with the Career Center so you don't miss out on all the helpful resources and exercises the Center offers to undergrads for career development.
