Extremely interesting instructor and very intriguing course content. The readings were kind of dull but the class discussion afterwards was always engaging. There were frequent journals, but as long as you hit the sentence minimum (a few handwritten sentences) you will get full credit. There were then a few "larger" assignments that were graded less leniently, but they were still fairly easy. Matt was also a very kind person -- he was very dedicated to learning everybody's names and making sure as many people as possible could contribute to the class discussions. Definitely take this engagement

I took this class Fall 2024 (not an option on the dropdown, sorry) and it was my favorite engagements. Professor Martello is really interesting and his class is engaging. Might be more reading than your average engagements class, but it was really worth it. Would definitely recommend taking this class if you get the chance.
