I took Ancient Environmental Ethics with Dr. Krause in the Fall(2025). She is a charming teacher, and I really liked the course topics. The readings were very light and the classes were pretty interesting. There is a final in class essay, but it is pretty simple since you can outline it beforehand. This is a class that has slightly more work than the typically desired no hw, no assessment, free A engagement course, but I think the extra bit of work is worth it, since I feel like I genuinely gained a new perspective from it. I feel like the way class participation was handled could have been a bit better, since she stressed class engagement many times but there weren't many opportunities to talk, except for a brief dedicated sharing period. That's just nitpicking though. Overall great class!
