I really enjoyed this class! It was my favorite engagement out of the 4 that I took this year. While it is quite an amount of reading, especially during the beginning few classes, I thought the topic of the ethics of travel was a super interesting and important one and I always enjoyed the classes because they were largely discussion based rather than just listening to her lecture. The class is structured such that 90% of your grade is finishing the assignments for each class (each class, you do the reading, answer questions about the reading in paragraph form, discuss during class, and do post-class questions), which are graded all-or-nothing. The other 10% is Engagements Experience. I really liked this structure - the only tricky thing is that pre-class questions are usually due 12PM the day of, and post-class questions are due 12PM the day after class, which was a timeline I was not used to and struggled with. However, Professor Eaker is genuinely super kind and very understanding, so she doesn't usually mind if post-class questions are completed late as long as you complete them and do it thoughtfully. I would definitely recommend taking this for your ethical engagement, as it's super relevant to a lot of people. #tCFS24
