I LOVED this class with Professor Parks. To be honest, I only took this class because it was the only advanced writing seminar that worked with the other classes in my schedule. I wasn't super interested in social movements or advocacy before this, but this class has certainly changed my mind. The readings in the middle of the semester are difficult, but Prof Parks helps you dissect them and better learn how to tackle difficult readings which is a super helpful skill for the rest of college. You only have to write 3 papers and the final project, and Prof Parks allows infinite revisions until you get the grade you want. He is very straightforward and provides amazing feedback on your essays. I feel like I have grown so much as a writer in only one semester. The small class size allows for great communication and bonding with the other people in the class. The final project to create your own social movement is engaging and refreshing in the midst of studying for exams and writing long papers.
