In the beginning, this class was really chill and easy because I knew most of the content from a prior class that went more in-depth about the concepts. HWs were initially really small programs that were pretty doable individually but then later on became much larger and a bit more difficult to do (but definitely still doable) if you were behind. Midterms were short interviews where you showed the programs you worked on plus answered a few random questions face-to-face with the professor interview style which initially can be nerve-wracking but he walks you through most of the answers if it is clear you have a general idea on the topic. The only thing I didn't love about these interview-type midterms was the fact that most of the answers had to be super specific (like looking for one specific word in your answer). After the first midterm, the content started picking up for me because it was more about devops and deployment which I wasn't too too familiar with and it started to become an issue when I fell very behind on the HWs (which didn't really have a due date) so I had to cram a lot at the end which wasn't great but it worked out. As for lectures and the professor, I'd say he puts you in a decent direction for the course material but is not the most effective teacher/lecturer. I felt pretty bored most of the time in the class and felt like it didn't really help me improve my skills (personally) as a CS major until we got to the last unit which was Docker and Kubernetes (and also a little bit of microservices content).
