Professor Fraiman is amazing. Feminist Criticism and Theory was the first high level 4000 English seminar that I took, which I was nervous about at first, but I found that Professor Fraiman really was more concerned with having rich discussions about the texts rather than grades. The beginning of the course is spent reading foundational texts starting with first-wave feminism and moving through second- and third- wave feminism. Then we read primary texts like Pride and Prejudice, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, The Well of Loneliness, and My Year of Meats. Professor Fraiman is intersectional in her approach to teaching feminism, which I appreciated because she is a white woman and there were many women of color in the course. She grades pretty leniently, in my opinion, which makes up for the fact that there are only three grade items: a 5-page paper, a 10-page paper, and a final exam. Professor Fraiman is so kind and really cares deeply for her students. One of my favorite professors. #tCFfall22
