This class is a very basic intro to these topics. If you are considering becoming an ETP major, I would recommend taking Religion, Ethics, and Global Environments instead, as it is a better representation of what ETP really is. The content is interesting enough, but it feels very basic. The quizzes are open note, the professors like to call on people in class, and there are weekly reading responses. Overall, it is fine. Not hard.

This class is taught by Paul Freedman, Micheline Marcom, and Deborah Lawrence, so I'm just gonna leave this review under Professor Freedman's. Overall, I think this class was super interesting and the workload was (generally) bearable. It was cool because it combined a Politics professor, an English professor, and an Environmental Science professor, and so we looked at the political/scientific/humanities side of climate change and its impacts. However, the class was very back-heavy with assignments-- throughout the semester, there were only 5 quizzes (each worth 2% of your grade), and then nothing until the last 2 weeks, when we had a 7-page final paper, a group project, and a final exam. But it is likely that this changes, though, since this was the first semester this class was taught. All 3 of the professors were awesome and gave interesting lectures, and were very nice and accommodating. The grading was not too difficult on the final assignments (I ended with an A and my other friends in the class did as well). I would definitely recommend this class-- it is a good introduction to the ETP program, but also covers a little bit of everything which was cool. #tCFspring2021
