Erin is a great instructor, and I learned a lot from this class. The course itself is relatively easy, though you should expect to spend a few hours each week on work outside of class. Typically, this included readings, videos, and occasional short writing assignments. To be honest, the readings and videos were often not essential, but they can add context for class discussions if you choose to do them.

The main project in the course is a group assignment where students are paired with a local nonprofit to assist with a fundraising initiative. The workload for this project varied significantly depending on the needs of the partner organization—some groups had a lot to do, while others had minimal responsibilities.

While I really enjoyed having Erin as a professor, she genuinely cares about her students and is passionate about the course material, there were times when the class felt disorganized. For example, one of our early assignments wasn’t graded until the final month of the semester, and I never had a clear sense of my grade throughout the course.

That said, I would still recommend this class. It’s a great fit for students interested in community engagement and professional development. If you're matched with a good organization and put in a reasonable amount of effort, you’ll gain valuable experience without being overwhelmed. It’s not a guaranteed easy A, but it’s definitely manageable and rewarding.
