I love salsa and bachata! I took the course because I had gone to the Bachata Room a couple times and wanted to learn the basics. Unfortunately, Sam talks a lot and gets stuck on long tangents, so there is not too much dancing. He gets upset easily and tells us how he's holding back from showing us new figures. As someone who loves dancing, this course was really slow and kind of boring. He will spend a couple weeks going over each of the main Latin dances including Bachata, Salsa, Meringue, and Cha Cha. Coming out of the class I feel like I barely know any more than I did just going social dancing. This is a credit/no credit course so it does not count towards your gpa. Additionally, there are no homework assignments besides going dancing in Charlottesville twice and writing a little bit about it. I took this course Spring 2024 and I believe there is going to be a new instructor in the fall, so hopefully the new instructor will allow more time for actually dancing in the class. #tCFS24
