Would very highly recommend taking this course. it is super relevant to the U.S currently and would be enjoyable for both religion majors/minors and people who have never taken a religion class before. There are journal entries every week, its very discussion based and Dr. Flores encourages everyone to share their opinions, there is an easy midterm exam where she gives you the list of terms you need to know beforehand, and there are two paper/written assignments. Highly recommend this class for anyone interested in the intersection of democracy, media, and religion. Very well taught, organized, and executed class

This class was really interesting. The beginning of the class focuses mostly on old religious thinkers, which was not my favorite, but once we moved into more modern thinking, I really got into the class. Professor Flores is a wonderful professor. She is so knowledgeable about what she teaches and wants to see her students succeed. She is compassionate and it reflects in her teaching style. There is only a midterm and final op-ed assignment in the class which make up the majority of your grade. Additionally, there is attendance, participation, and a weekly discussion post. I would recommend this class to anyone interested in the topics listed!
