Nice guy. Definitely is pretty harsh on grading so you have to be on top of your stuff. Beginning of class lectures are kind of boring but don't last too long. He is good at making sure you are on a good path to succeed with your projects and gives good feedback. Focuses a lot on project management. CAD assignments can be tricky and the directions are sometimes hard to follow.

This class (not professor specific) will either be something you love or something you hate. In the class, there are 2 main projects (and an intro project) where you work in a team to complete some type of design. The first one we did was a float, and the 2nd one we had to find our own problem on UVA. Serrano's class is a lot slower, with our first project finishing 2 weeks after other classes, and he was a lot more leneinet with deadlines. Sometimes his class can be boring with lecture, but it's an introduction class, and he definitely had some great ideas being my first year advisor and teacher. He's a chill professor overall.
