Although the content is interesting, most of the lecture is just reviewing the reading, which makes it feel as if either the reading or lecture is unnecessary. The class is interesting, but if you are self motivated, I would just read the textbook.
There are three essays, they are not difficult and it is very easy to get feedback prior to ensure a high grade. The class is less dependent on the professor and more on your TA, who will lead discussions and be grading your work.

This class had a cool concept but didn’t always deliver. The topics sounded fun and current, but the lectures sometimes dragged and the discussions could get repetitive. It wasn’t hard, and the grading was very manageable, but I left wishing it had gone a little deeper. Good for a requirement, but not especially memorable.

This class is lecture-based, but there are readings that go over almost the exact lecture content. You need to write 3 essays, which make up the entire grade, but they are generously graded and it is easy to get feedback before you submit. I enjoyed the topics covered in this class, and doing the readings before lecture took very little time and was helpful to be present in class. #tCFS24
