As an online student, the course material was very accessible. Professor Smith created a good format by combining with prerecorded lectures. The notes build well on each other, not jumping too many steps, and covers a digestible amount of information per lecture. I felt successful in the class thanks to a well-made structure. However, I hoped for practical content. 4/5 of the semester is learning index notation and matrix manipulation. The physical meaning of stress tensors, for example, are explained, but there's no application. The last chapter finally gets to working with real material, but the balance should be 2:3 of theory:application, instead of 4:1.
