The class ended up being a lot more limited to clay and lecture heavy than I expected. To be honest I think the biggest thing that threw me off was that there was so much lecturing and looking at art by other artists, especially at the beginning. I understand the need for art background, but the first couple of weeks felt more like an art history class than a studio art one, and this includes talking about everyone's works for long periods during critiques. The lectures and critiques really cut into our studio time when alot of us just wanted to be making things. Some of the info and the feedback was interesting and useful but it got repetitive and it didn’t always feel connected to what we were actually doing in the studio.

Recommended if you’re really into clay and don’t mind slower class with a lot of talking
