The workload was very manageable, but many readings were difficult to follow and fully understand. Overall, the topics discussed in class and in readings are very interesting. Anyone who wants to work in healthcare, especially as a nurse, APP, or medical doctor, should take this class. This really opened my eyes to the issues in our healthcare system and society as a whole. Dr. Zigon is a great guy with good taste in music. He discusses his research and it is really interesting and unique. I highly recommend this course.

I took this class, and it was pretty chill. I saw decent reviews of the Prof and the course in general. I generally enjoyed this class; the lectures were easy to follow, and Zigon is an interesting but cool dude. The only problem I really had with this course was the readings; some were fine, but some were just so hard to follow and dense. The discussion sections were optional. Exams were nice because they were take-home. Pretty good course to boost your GPA if you don't mind a good bit of reading.

This class was once a week for about 2.5 hours... it was hard to keep paying attention, very boring I will say and sometimes too philosophical for me. However, some of the topics were really interesting if you are into different forms and perspectives of healthcare and wellbeing. It was definitely an easy A though with discussions not even being mandatory (but they were helpful with the readings). Two weekly article readings and you had to come up with discussion questions for each which wasn't bad at all. The exams were fairly straightforward and take home with questions coming directly from what Zigon would say during lecture or the readings so you knew exactly what to study.
