I took this course in the first semester it was offered and it was a great experience. Ethan is such a great and understanding professor who really cares about your success and experience in the class. It is very discussion driven with readings outside of class and, at least in my semester, it was structured to focus on different aspects of generative ai and writing per unit. The units varied on their types of assignments (one was more essay heavy, one was more projects) and he worked based on the feedback from us to make it work well. All of our discussions were very friendly and everyone wanted to hear differing perspectives. If you want to learn more about how generative ai changes/is changing writing, I definitely recommend this class.
