This course is incredibly dry. Leonard routinely goes on for long lectures, even though he wants it to be a discussion based course, and I don’t know if it’s just me but his voice just puts me to sleep. The reading is a bit much at times but manageable and he grades fairly on papers. I will say that I learned quite a bit about the British presence in India from my reading of the books, not so much in class. Overall I’d say this is a pretty average history course. He tries to boost your grade some with a short geography quiz and participation, because he doesn’t go easy on papers. I chose to take it for credit since I don’t think it’s a guarenteed A but an A- or B+ is very likely.
