Review Summary Updated April 06, 2026

This accelerated format combines two semester levels into one, so expect a fast start with daily online assignments, e-portfolio requirements, and cold-calling that demands constant attention. The initial workload feels intense and the classroom tone can occasionally lean discouraging, but the pacing quickly settles, exams closely mirror practice materials, and consistent effort will keep your grade manageable. Students frequently describe the constant homework as a time sink, yet nearly everyone agrees it forces rapid improvement and builds speaking confidence far faster than traditional language courses. Despite a few notes about a strict cutoff for the highest letter grade, the vast majority find this instructor’s clear expectations, active teaching style, and genuine investment in student success make this demanding requirement well worth taking.

Professor Street is a really good teacher and highly recommended for all! The online work is a pain, but that's the same for all 1060 courses. Class is often enjoyable and always bearable. He's always happy to help.

Professor Street is very cool and approachable. The class is mostly asking and answering textbook questions out loud with a partner, and the quizzes/in-class essays/oral exams/tests are all pretty straightforward and not too hard. The hardest part is the online homework Sunday through Thursday, which can take up to two hours sometimes.
