Professor Alley taught Foreign Policy Mistakes as his first class at the University, and, despite being from 7-9:30 on a Wednesday night, made it completely worth it to come to every class. The readings were the main weekly course work with two books being the bulk of it. Two 6-8 page essays on the case studies, Vietnam and Iraq for us, and a final learning portfolio are also due throughout the semester. Participation plays a large role, though it is easy to get the points for this if you do the readings, show up, and contribute. Professor Alley has definitely changed the way I look at IR and I highly recommend him to anyone who has the chance to take a class with him.
