This class was taught by three professors, Stuart, Nikolova, and Schultz. Overall it is a good course. The teachers are nice to work with most of the time and you definitely flesh out more Russian topics. However, it is easy to fall behind if your not disciplined on grammar and vocab studies. Unfortunately a lot of IMPORTANT stuff are more "we trust you to do this so its not graded", and unlike first year there is no vocab quizzes. Personally I think a more structured course would be beneficial, such as vocab quizzes to make sure everyone stays on track, as well as more focused quizzes on specific grammar topics. This is just a personal opinion. Also as the course progresses they tend to speak about grammar in Russian only, which can be beneficial but it feels like one is spending more time on trying to understand what is being spoken rather than what the actual grammar topic is. This can slow down learning.

Professor Stuart isn't the most helpful in the department. She lessened the workload after first semester being a living nightmare for all her students, but we still have 1-2 daily homework assignments, frequent quizzes, and exams just about every other week. If you want an A, you will be working for it. I've never heard of anyone getting under a B in 2010 or 2020 though.
