i actually took this fall 2025 and fernando is great! she was very disorganized however, so you have to be paying attention to make sure you don't miss anything. GO TO OFFICE HOURS she explains concepts a lot better during OH compared to in class. she did take attendance and it was a part of your grade though.

I really enjoyed the way Professor Fernando taught this class! It was a little time-consuming with pre-class videos, worksheets, and general studying for tests but Professor Fernando is one of the kindest professors I've had here at UVA. Office hours are a LIFE SAVER if you don't understand something in class because she will sit down with you and work through entire problems until you understand the concept. You can also go to TA office hours which are extremely helpful. The tests aren't too bad especially if you've taken Calculus in high school before, but if you pay attention to lecture and do the homework it usually pays off. She also took attendance when I took the class, as attendance is some part of your grade (not a big part), but going to lecture is generally helpful and a way to get your worksheets checked before you submit them as they are graded by correctness not completion! (also I took this class Fall 2023)
