Great class if you want to learn to conduct! It helps to have some theory background but this was the first music class I took at UVA and my lack of music knowledge did not hurt me very much. Slon basically has one person conduct the rest of the class as a choir and switches people around, giving feedback along the way. Make sure you learn your voice part before you get to class because Slon gets irritated if you aren't prepared. Learned a lot about conducting and it prepared me as an instrumental conductor as well as a choral one.
